By Car
Many people choose to travel by car to experience the NC countryside and enjoy the freedom of one's own wheels, especially when traveling with pets and children. Rowena Patton has made dozens of trips to Miami by car and in a bone rattling moving truck (not recommended;-)
By Motorcycle

By Air
Asheville airport is about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville, 40 minutes from Black Mountain and Weaverville, 20 minutes from Hendersonville. Can be high priced. Nice local airport feel.
Greenville Spartanburg Airport
About 80 minutes from Asheville - a convenient alternative with easy in-expensive parking and generally low traffic highway to Asheville. Often lower price flights than Asheville Airport
Charlotte International Airport
About 2 hours from Asheville. Not so much the local airport experience, however often offers lower priced flights.
About 1 hour and 20 minutes from Asheville.
